Presented in partnership with Big hART, Squid Theory is a floating multimedia artwork. The Julienne, built and launched in Triabunna, comes to life with projection lights and choreography on the water.
With sails as cinema screens carrying animated local imagery, and onboard sound design, the Julienne herself becomes an instrument played by percussionist Maggie Abraham, over beds of underwater sounds and vocal arrangements created by Sabine Bester. This after-dark visual and sonic spectacle brings Triabunna wharf to life on the eve of summer. Squid Theory will feature squid ink imagery and audio created in a collaboration between Big hART creative mentors and local school students.
